‘It’s tough without a label; I’ve been self-funding my music’ – Sarkodie reveals

Celebrated Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie recently opened up about the challenges of being an independent artist in Ghana.

The ‘Otan’ hitmaker shared that as an independent artist, he relies solely on securing funding to produce his music.

Without the support of a label, Sarkodie has been self-funding his projects, often receiving upfront payments from anticipated sales to finance the production process.

“For me as an independent artiste I solely depend on getting funding to make my music because it is very tough I don’t have a label I’ve been funding myself since so sometimes I get a upfront on my sales that I’ll be making to be able to make the product and when I make it back and now I can get back to receiving my revenues.”.
