Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority to invest GH₵36m in Philanthropic works in Ghana

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., a United States of America (USA) based, all women not for profit organization, championing charity services, scholarship, and gender equality, has earmarked about GH₵36 million for various humanitarian projects in its visit to Ghana.

In Ghana, the sorority will lead transformative philanthropic initiatives, constructing vital facilities like toilets and boreholes to bolster health and sanitation infrastructure.

Rooted in an educational foundation, the sorority will enhance education by building and revamping labs, distributing school supplies, and supporting initiatives for women’s empowerment and healthcare. .

“We are thrilled to undertake ‘The Birthright Journey’ to Ghana, combining cultural exploration with impactful service projects and donations.

She was optimistic that the delegation would leave a lasting imprint through the series of its philanthropic initiatives with a budgeted direct inflow of US$100,000.  Additionally, sorority foresees a substantial cash injection of GH₵36, million into the local economy through collaborations with local vendors and suppliers.

Touching on the choice of Ghana as the preferred destination said: “The choice of Ghana for the philanthropic project is to underscore Ghana as a home for the sorority members due to the warm reception it has offered to those with African-American heritage.
