Stage plays have made me a much better actress and more confident infront of camera – Naa Ashorkor

Ghanaian actress and media personality, Naa Ashorkor has revealed that performing on stage as an actor/ actress is an exceptional experience, especially since it is a setting where performances are delivered live.

In a recent interview on TV3’s “NewDay”, Naa Ashorkor disclosed that it has been a

revelation for her to move from film to stage performances since it has given her the opportunity to learn how to do something correctly the first time.

“You know they say that stage is a great place to learn for all actors because on stage you are live and you know how it is when it is live, you don’t have the opportunity to redo it.

Stage affords you the opportunity to learn how to do it right for the first time,” she said.

The Ghanaian actress admitted that although she began her career in film and switched to theater later in her career, the experience has improved her as an actor in general, especially when appearing in front of cameras for television.

“So even though I got into stage a little late, I started from film, I have found that being on stage has made me a much better actor even in front of the camera on television,” Naa Ashorkor shared.

Naa Ashorkor has done stage plays collaborating with George Quaye’s Image Bureau and her own April Communications, she recently staged the play “An Inspector Calls!” in honor of the late Ekow Blankson, a talented actor who passed away last year!
