Global Citizen Festival campaign held in Accra and New York on Saturday has culminated in over $2.4 billion in commitments to end extreme poverty.
The nine-hour festival across two stages started in Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana
In its 1oth year, the festival celebrated 65 years of Ghana’s independence and pivotal role in the twenty years of the African Union.
Global Citizen Festival: Accra featured performances by Usher, SZA, Stormzy, Gyakie, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, TEMS, and Uncle Waffles, and was hosted by award-winning actor, playwright and activist Danai Gurira.
