According to him, the NHIS has witnessed notable improvements, attributed to financial reinforcement and digital transformation, with NHIS numbers now aligned with Ghana card numbers. 

Additionally, accessibility has been prioritized, with the introduction of the NHIS app enabling registration, subscription renewal, and access to covered diseases remotely, eliminating the need for physical visits to NHIS offices.

Besides resourcing it financially, we have also digitized it and linked it to the Ghana card.

We have also extended NHIS coverage to include childhood cancers and hydroxyurea for sickle-cell patients. We have also introduced an NHIS app, so today people can register and get enrolled using their Ghanacard.
