The Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection has said that drawing from valuable insights from research on Autism in Africa, it is imperative to invest in culturally relevant interventions, and foster collaboration among stakeholders.

In a statement, the lawmaker raised concern that estimating the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD in Ghana poses challenges due to limited data and research capacity.

Miss Newman therefore emphasised it is crucial to illuminate the challenges encountered by individuals on the autism spectrum within our educational institutions, workplaces, and communities.
