National Theatre partners Methodist Church to train youth in performing...

The National Theatre of Ghana has partnered with the Methodist Church to train youth in performing arts.

The youth development partnership is aimed at offering the youth guidance on how to properly harness their talents for national development as it also serves as a tool for evangelism.

Both parties have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise the partnership and officially launch the programme in Accra.

Most Reverend Dr Boafo said he had taken note of the fact that most of the youth have various talents they can put into use for God’s work and national development and at the same time, make a living.

The partnership, he said, was to use the explore the National Theatre’s expertise to equip the youth for the project ahead

Executive Director of National Theatre, Amy Appiah Frimpong, speaking about the details of the partnership said participants will be trained in the areas of drama, dance and music.

Madam Frimpong was optimistic the National Theatre will be able to train about 2,000 youth in each of the regions.
