Audio: Raw galamsey footage handed over to Special Prosecutor - Sammy Darko

It has emerged that Anas Aremeyaw Anas and the Tiger Eye PI’s unedited videos of the documentary ‘Galamsey Fraud’ have already been presented to the office of the Special Prosecutor, headed by Mr Martin Amidu.

A member of Anas’ legal team, Mr. Sammy Darko disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen show, Monday.

Presidential Staffer, Mr. Charles Cromwell Bissue, dared the award winning investigative journalist to produce the ‘raw unedited footages’ of his galamsey exposé to aid in the criminal investigations involving him (Bissue).

Mr. Bissue stepped aside recently as secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining after Mr. Anas aired a documentary in which he was caught allegedly taking bribe to allow a company carry out mining activities at a time there was a ban on all small-scale mining activities in Ghana.

Mr. Anas claimed he and his team gave Mr. Bissue GH¢ 35, 000.00 to facilitate the process for them.

On Friday, 15 March, 2019, Mr. Bissue indicated that he was invited by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service to assist in investigations.

But reacting to the embattled Presidential Staffer’s comment, Mr. Darko said they presented the raw tape to the Special Prosecutor on 27th February, 2019 and therefore could not fathom why Mr. Bissue is crying over the raw tape.

According to him, Mr. Bissue is only playing the victim in the issue when indeed the truth is glaring.

He questioned why Mr. Bissue is asking for raw tape when he has no right to ask.

“Charles Bissue is only playing the victim here. For his information, the raw tape was given to the Special Prosecutor in February. He was invited by the police and has written his statement and so he should just stop engaging in propaganda,” he said.

He added “You (Bissue) are not the spokesperson for the security personnel and if they demand it we are ready to face them.”
