Economic Fighters League endorses Nana Kwame Bediako’s vision for a single African currency

The Economic Fighters League (EFL) has commended Nana Kwame Bediako, presidential aspirant and leader of the New Force, for his proposal to introduce a single African currency.

Bediako’s vision, which he shared on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on April 19, 2024, aims to unite Africa and secure economic freedom for its nations.

In a statement signed by Amodani Gariba from the Office of the Fighter-General, the EFL praised Bediako’s plan, stating that a currency used by 1.5 billion people would hold more weight than one used by just 30 million.

They believe this solution is crucial to breaking free from Western economic dominance and achieving economic emancipation.

The league, known for its pan-Africanist stance, has long advocated for economic freedom in Ghana and beyond.

They see Bediako’s proposal as a vital step towards a united Africa, free from the shackles of neo-colonialism and foreign economic exploitation.

The EFL also welcomed the recent decision by Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger to abandon the French-controlled CFA franc, a colonial relic, and called for similar bold actions across the continent.

“Achieving a single African currency will require a shift in thinking among African leaders, and some may need to be replaced for progress to be made,” they emphasized.

They asserted that “entrenched political elites, such as Ghana’s NPP and NDC, must be ousted to pave the way for genuine change.”

With Ghana’s crucial December 2024 elections on the horizon, Fighters urged voters to reject the duopoly and embrace alternative parties underscoring the opportunity for restoration and renewal.
