Benjamin Azamati thrilled after making Olympic Games for second time

Ghana’s fastest 100m sprinter, Benjamin Azamati is excited after booking a place in the Olympic Games for the second time in a row.

The 26-year-old booked qualification as part of the 4x100m relay team that finished first in their heat with a season-best of 38.29s at the 2024 World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas.

He was the third athlete in the team, running 9.35s to help propel Ghana to Paris.

The University of Ghana graduate participated in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

“It’s awesome.

We thank God for the gift of this talent and we thank Ghana for being behind us, letting us do what we do.

They supported us coming here so we’re just thankful to God and we’ve been able to go to the Olympics twice,” he told Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo.

He holds the 100m record for Ghana with a time of 9.90s.
