Josh-Kofi Acheampong shines on Chelsea debut against Spurs

It was a night to remember for 17-year-old Josh-Kofi Acheampong, as the young English-born Ghanaian made his highly-anticipated debut for Chelsea in their 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

Handed his first senior appearance by Mauricio Pochettino, Acheampong didn’t look out of place on the big stage, making four successful blocks which was the most by any player on the pitch.

With Chelsea’s injury crisis creating opportunities, the teenager seized his moment with both hands and put in an assured performance at right back replacing fellow academy graduate Alfie Gilchrist in the 85th minute.
