‘Broken heart’ forced me to compose ‘Asylum’ song – Olive The Boy | 3News

Afrobeats singer and songrwiter, how a bitter relationship led him to compose his new single ‘Asylum’.

Born Joel Ofori Bonsu, Olive The Boy said the song which was released on March 1 this year had even existed before his hit track ‘Goodsin.’

Speaking in an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, the musician explained that the song was inspired by a broken heart from his ex-girlfriend which happened two years ago.

The 21-year-old said he was compelled to compose a song about his bitter experience due to his strong affection for the lady whose name he did not reveal.

“I felt like I need to write a song about it because I was really in love with the girl.

I do hear from her sometimes and she wants to comeback,” he said on TV3’s New Day, Wednesday, April 3.

“There are many fishes in the sea,” the afrobeats singer quickly replied when asked if he would get back together with his ex-girlfriend.

The ‘Goodsin’ hitmaker has received three nominations for this year’s TGMA.

They include; Best new artiste of the year, Most popular song of the year and best Afrobeats song of the year.
