Ghanaian sprinter Joseph Paul Amoah electrified the track as he clinched the gold medal in the men’s 200m final held on Friday at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Amoah, who had previously secured bronze in Birmingham at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, displayed remarkable form in both the heats and the semifinals, establishing himself as one of the frontrunners for the final.

With determination and skill, he delivered a spectacular performance to claim the coveted gold medal.

Crossing the finish line with a swift time of 20.70 seconds, Amoah secured the top spot on the podium.

Following closely behind was Claude Emmanuel Itoungue Bogognie of Cameroon, who secured the silver medal with a time of 20.74 seconds.

Nigeria’s Consider Emmanuel rounded out the podium, clinching the bronze medal with a time of 20.80 seconds.

Amoah’s compatriot, Ibrahim Fuseini, also demonstrated his prowess by securing a respectable fourth place in the highly competitive race.
