African football set for boost as CAF and beIN Sports rekindle partnership

The Confederation of African Football () has announced that they are recommencing their partnership with after successfully resolving disputes that arose between the two parties.

CAF initially terminated their 12-year, $415 million broadcast contract with beIN Sports in September, citing a breach of contract.

However, after constructive discussions, the parties have come to a mutually beneficial agreement, paving the way for the continuation of their partnership.

CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe expressed his pleasure at the , emphasising the importance of maintaining positive relationships with sponsors and partners.

He highlighted the need for good governance, ethics, and global best practices in CAF's operations and stressed the significance of investing in youth academies, football clubs, national teams, and other football infrastructure.

The partnership between CAF and beIN Sports is significant for the growth and development of football in , as it provides exposure and financial resources for the sport.

The deal covers 40 countries across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions, as well as and the , and includes broadcast rights to CAF's international and club soccer tournaments, such as the Africa Cup of Nations and the Champions League.

With the resolution of their differences, CAF and beIN Sports can now focus on strengthening their partnership and promoting football in Africa to a wider audience.
