Some party members are bitter – NPP scribe admits

The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has expressed concern about the fact some party members are bitter towards the party because their past relatives who fought for the party in the past are not being treated well by the party.

He said gone were the days such relatives had the love for the party, but they are now bitter towards the party because they have been neglected.

Kodua made the observations while speaking at the Ablekuma South Constituency when the party honoured its heroes and heroines.

In all, ten stalwarts, some of whom are alive while others have passed away, were honoured.

They are late Joshua Attoh Quarshie, late Theresa Amelley Tagoe and late Ben Brown.

The rest are Ayitey Boafo, John Boadu, Stanley Adjiri Blankson, Kingsly Ampah, Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah, Vivian Garshong and Lord Commey.

The NPP scribe said “such programme was one of my visions while campaigning to become the General Secretary of the party and what Ablekuma South has done is the first of its kind in any constituency across the country”.

Kodua added that “some people have suffered for the party…but they died and their families are bitter towards the party”.

“It’s all because when their relatives passed away, the party has never remembered them.

Asante promised to wrestle the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) come December 2024 election.

Asked on how they plan to wrestle the seat because ever since the late Amelley Tagoe left, the NPP has never won the seat back, Mr.

Asante said now there is unity in the party and that will propel them to work hard and win the seat back.
