Poster of Palgrave for Abuakwa North pops up; promises to deliver 'robust' mandate

Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security Palgrave Frimpong Boakye-Danquah appears to have crystalised his decision to go for the Abuakwa North seat.

On Thursday, June 1, a poster of his intention was released on his official page.

Announcing his decision, he wrote: “With humility, I have answered the call to serve.”

He further expressed optimism to deliver a “robust mandate for Abuakwa North”.

The former Executive Director of Kandifo Institute has made his intentions to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in next year’s parliamentary elections clear.

Last month, he visited some schools in the Constituency with projects initiated to benefit constituents.

“The time has come where the need for rapid mobilisation and development of our communities is evident,” inscriptions on his poster noted.

“Captured, committed and contagious relationships with an attitude of service will bring us the change we deserve.”

The NPP has seen dwindling fortunes in the despite managing to consistently win the seat.

Between 2016 and 2020, incumbent Gifty Twum-Ampofo has seen votes of her party reduce by almost 6 percent.

Despite amassing 17,653 votes in 2020, Madam Twum-Ampofo lost much ground to new entrant Charles Yeboah Darko, who polled 15,551 votes.

Mr Boakye-Danquah has, therefore, been tipped as the man to return the glory days of the NPP in Abuakwa North.

The NPP will hold its parliamentary primaries for occupied seats in February next year.
