Black Princesses beat Burkina Faso to reach WAFU Cup final

Black Princesses have secured a place in the final of the maiden WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup after they recorded an impressive 3-1 win over Burkina Faso on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Coach Yusif Basigi’s Ladies started slowly as they conceded an early goal in the fourth minute prompting them to rise on their toes for the pulsating encounter.

Stella Nyame quickly came through with the equaliser on the 13th minute mark before Success Ameyaa added another ensuring Ghana ended the first half with an advantage.

The Black Princesses continued the second half with captivating football despite missing a few more chances.

Burkina Faso on the other hand aimed at levelling the score but their attacks were not enough to beat the compact defence of the Ghanaians who hunted back to get another goal.

With seven minutes to end the game, Faiza Seidu scored the third goal cementing the victory for the hosts and ensuring a place in the final of the tournament.

They will play the winner of the other semi-final game between Nigeria and Benin.
