I would choose to watch Bechem United play over Hearts and Kotoko - Charles Taylor

Former Ghana Premier League star Charles Taylor has indicated that the reason for the poor attendance at various stadia on matchdays in the Ghana Premier League is the decline in quality performances by teams particularly the two most successful clubs Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

Taylor who is a former Hearts and Kotoko player explained that the two clubs which have massive followers have disappointed their fans with inconsistent performances paving the way for other teams to take their shine.

According to him, a team like Bechem United impress him more than Kotoko and Hearts which is why he would opt to pay and watch the Hunters play any day at the expense of the Phobians and the Porcupine Warriors even if it was free.

“I would rather spend money watching a Bechem United game than watch Hearts and Kotoko matches for free.

This is because Bechem United play with much focus and discipline,” he told Angel TV as quoted by Ghanaweb.

“The excitement around Hearts and  Kotoko matches have died because some of the players are not dedicated.

The players must show dedication and commitment but we are not seeing that Our big teams have become small teams so no one is eager to watch them.

“If Kotoko and Hearts can play in an empty stadium for a game that had two thongs at stake then our football has clearly gone down.

People go to the pub and spend a lot od money then why can’t they do the same for football?”

Both Hearts of Oak and Kotoko have missed out on the Ghana Premier League with Medeama SC, Aduana Stars and Bechem United battling for the ultimate prize with two matches to end the season.
