Survival hopes dashed as GFA dismiss King Faisal's protest

King Faisal are facing difficult times in the Ghana Premier League following the Disciplinary Committee of the ’s decision to dismiss the club’s complaint over the eligibility of a Tamale City player.

Tamale City were accused of fielding an unqualified player, Isaac Mensah/Jireh Kojo Nissi against King Faisal in their matchday 30 meeting at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on May 6.

After weeks of investigation, the committee’s ruling dismissed the protest, stating that the player in question was eligible to participate in the match.

The GFA Prosecutor has however been tasked with investigating Jireh Kojo Nissi’s registration procedure, with the goal of uncovering any anomalies and charging anybody found guilty of misconduct in his registration.

This decision has been communicated to all parties involved.

Consequently, King Faisal FC’s hopes of securing a victory by default, which would have granted them three crucial points in their battle against relegation, were dashed.

The ruling now means both teams’ fate in the Ghana Premier League remains undecided.

King Faisal continue to occupy the 17th position with the task of winning all two remaining matches to stand a chance of surviving.

Tamale City are also just a point away from the drop zone as well.
