Medeama move four points clear after comeback win against King Faisal

Medeama extended their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League table after beating King Faisal at Akoon Park on Friday afternoon.

Evans Adotey’s men were poised to maintain their lead as they welcomed a struggling King Faisal who had lost their previous three games on the road.

The Insha Allah Boys took the lead through Samuel Kusi in the 10th minute showing determination to survive in the intense relegation battle.

However, their lead was short-lived as young defender Nurudeen Abdulai levelled the score ten minutes later ensuring a statement at halftime.

Adotey’s tactical prowess came to play once more as he introduced Joshua Agyemang in the second half who scored the winner a few minutes after climbing off the bench to claim all points for the Tarkwa-based side.

The win puts Medeama four points clear of Aduana Stars with 56 points while they await the rest of the matches for round 32.

Meanwhile, King Faisal will need to play above themselves and expect favourable results from fellow strugglers to maintain a place in the top flight next season.

They remain 17th with 36 points only above the already demoted Kotoku Royals.
