Bournemouth confirm signing ‘exciting player’ Antoine Semenyo

Bournemouth have signed Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo on a long-term contract from Bristol City.

Semenyo was being pursued by a number of clubs due to his impressive scoring form for Bristol City, but the Premier League side desperate to avoid relegation won the race.

He becomes the third signing of the January transfer window for the Cherries, following the arrivals of Dango Ouattara and Darren Randolph.

Semenyo has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Bournemouth, with a one-year extension option.

The 23-year-old appeared in 125 games for Bristol City, scoring 21 goals and assisting on 22 others.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: “Antoine is an exciting player and one we have monitored for a while.

“He had interest from elsewhere and so we’re delighted to welcome him to the club.”

Semenyo was a member of Ghana’s World Cup squad in 2022, making two appearances.
