New Ghana Premier League headline sponsor betPawa has agreed to invest $6 million in the competition over a three-year period.

This was revealed on Wednesday at the (GFA) Secretariat in Accra during the unveiling of betPawa as the official headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.

“On behalf of the Executive Council and the football fraternity in Ghana I wish to thank you for your support.”

Okraku further pointed out that Ghana is blessed with a lot of football talents and evidence is seen through the display of soccer artistry across the various leagues.

The league had been without a headline sponsor for the past three years after a five-year, $10 million contract signed in 2018 between the Football Association and Zylofon Cash expired prematurely due to the financial institution’s dissolution.

Betting companies have recently taken an interest in Ghana football, with Betway also investing in the women’s league

They have also worked with the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to organise a series of seminars for Division One League clubs and women’s football administrators.
