A/R NPP Elections: KsTU researcher predicts 57.8% win for Wontumi | 3NEWS.com

A Senior Research Fellow of the is projecting at least 57.8 percent with a marginal increase of +9 win for the incumbent Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, in the upcoming elections.

The projection puts a close contender, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, at a disadvantaged position of 36.5 percent with a marginal increase of 3.6 percent.

In a press briefing in Kumasi to explain his findings, Dr Sarpong said: “Despite the two major contestants in the race who have been tipped to be the delegates’ favourite out of the five, the research combined the remaining three and puts them at a percentage of 6.2 percent with marginal increase of 1.2.”

Though the NPP Ashanti Region election is slated to come off on Friday, May 27, results of the polls favours incumbent Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Chairman Wontumi’.

Concluding his findings, Dr Smart noted that out of the 540 delegates interviewed across the length and breadth of the Region, almost all of them remarked that their choice is Wontumi over COKA.

“They explain that they believe Wontumi has the agility and strategy to face the NDC in the region to break the eight,” he said.

The poll also predicted a win in the Ashanti Region for Justin Koduah, CEO of the Youth Employment Agency, who is seeking to unseat John Boadu for the General Secretary slot.”
