A total of 43 candidates are contesting for 10 positions in the within the New Patriotic Party in the Western Region as the party begins election of regional executives across the country.
Hundreds of party supporters and delegates converged at the George Grant University of Mines and Technology in Tarkwa Saturday morning for the party’s regional delegates congress at which the election will be held.
The buzz is around the Chairman, Secretary and organiser.
Two former regional communications officers are contesting the incumbent regional secretary who is seeking to retain the post.
The regional chairman Dickson Nketsoah is not seeking re election, but the 2nd vice chairman, Francis Ndede Siah, who rose to become the acting chairman is seeking to become the substantive chairman.
