VGMA: Charterhouse apologise to TV3 over break in feed

Organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Charterhouse Ghana have rendered an unqualified apology to Media General, managers of TV3, and viewers, for the break in transmission during the live telecast of the 19th VGMA last Saturday.

“We provided live feeds to all our broadcast partners including TV3 on the night and take full responsibility for the break in transmission and apologise to our partners, Media General, owners of TV3, to all the viewers who were impacted and to the distinguished award presenters. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” Charterhouse noted in a statement.

The apology comes on the back of public concern over a break in transmission on the night during the presentation of the Best Music Video Award.

Media General, who were the official media partners for this year’s awards, received public backlash on the night and days after for the break in transmission.

The station subsequently released a statement apologising to viewers,

Charterhouse in their statement to management of the media conglomerate accepted responsibility for what they describe as a technical error.

“We had full responsibility for on-ground production of the awards as we have done over the last few years. The interruption was due to a technical error which our team managed to resolve within the shortest possible time,” Charterhouse indicated.

They thanked Media General for being a worthy media partner in making the 19th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards a success.
