Akufo-Addo needs Obinim sticker to cure his ‘super incompetence’ – Mahama

The Akufo-Addo-led government is “super incompetent” as it has failed to deliver on its numerous promises to Ghanaians, former President John Mahama has stated.

Addressing National Democratic Congress faithfuls at Wa in the Upper West Region during the party’s Unity Walk Saturday, Mahama said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo needs one of the ‘miraculous’ Obinim sticker to cure his level of incompetence.

The incompetence of president Akufo-Addo and his government, he said, is however not a trump card for NDC’s victory in the 2020 general elections.

He thus underscored the need for members of the NDC to work hard to secure a genuine electoral victory come 2020.

“The NPP is proving super incompetent. we cannot sit and relax and say because of their super incompetence we are going to win the election. We must work hard to convince the electorate that we deserve to be voted back into power,” he told the crowd.

He said the incompetence of Akufo-Addo and his government “is so bad” that “there’s some new thing that has come that cures everything; they call it Obinim sticker or something. The president and his government need an Obinim sticker”.

He added: “If it really works then they need an Obinim sticker,” Mahama suggested.

In the run up to the 2016 general elections, the New Patriotic Party then in opposition, declared Mahama incompetent as it was unimpressed by the achievement of the John Mahama administration.

The tag of ‘incompetent Mahama’ became a popular refrain for the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo and his running mate Mahamudu Bawumia as well as some key members of the NPP as they consistently used that against Mr. Mahama.
