The Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu, has carried out another reshuffle in the Ghana Police Service, appointing a Deputy Inspector General of Police.
Commissioner of Police (COP), James Oppong–Boanuh, who is now the Deputy IGP, was the director general in charge of Administration.
His position is being occupied by COP Isaac Ken Yeboah, director general in charge of Technical Services.
According to a statement issued and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) David Eklu, who is in charge of Public Affairs Department, 12 senior police officers were also affected in the recent reshuffle.
They include COP Kwame Agbloh, director general in charge of welfare, who has been moved to head Legal and Prosecutions Department.
COP Dr George Akuffo Dampare, director general in charge of research and planning is now in charge of welfare.
COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, director general in charge of Police Intelligence Directorate, is now in charge of Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), taking over from COP Maxwell Sakipago Atingane.
COP Maxwell Sakipago Atingane moves to Winneba as the commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College, Winneba.
COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, director general in charge of Police Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS) moves to Research and Planning while COP Beatrice Zakpa Vib Sanziri, who was in charge of Human Resource Department would replace him.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) George Tuffour, the Volta Regional Commander, is now in charge of Finance, taking over from (DCOP) Patrick Atampugre Akologo, who has also been moved to the National Protection Directorate.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) George Alex Mensah, Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, is now in charge of Police Operations while DCOP Nana Asomah Hinneh, Tema Regional Commander, has been moved to the Human Resource Department.
