Just as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is preparing to go to its Regional Delegates election, slated for 21, April 2018, issues have started emerging about the list of institutions being presented by the leadership of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) of NPP, amidst suspicion of possible rigging.
In a statement sent to peacefmonline.com, a concerned Tescon executive of Greater Accra, is questioning the authenticity of some Tescon institution which has found its way into the Greater Accra Tescon branch trying to undermine the process of selecting delegates.
According to them, some members have deliberately inserted new names of tertiary institutions which do not even have TESCON branches, such as the NAFTI, Advance Business, SIKKIM University, MARSHALL University, MOUNTCREST University, NARH BITA, MARANATHA, KNUSTFORD, RADFORD, KNUST Accra Campus, Blue Crest.
Below is the full statement;
Our undivided attention has however been drawn to a very serious constitutional and conventional breach in the Greater Accra Regional Tescon list which requires correction as a matter of urgency to ensure a peaceful, transparent, free and fair election in conformity with the very principles that we stand for as a party. A party founded on the principles of democracy!
The Facts remains that, The Tescon list Provided by (Greater Accra) for the voting process has been hugely and incredibly bloated with:
1. Unaccredited Tescon institutions.
2. Groups which have not officially been inaugurated as TESCON has been included on the Greater Accra TESCON list.
3. Repetition of schools in Central Region in the Greater Accra Register.
4. Addition of unexisting schools (Ghost Schools) as part of the Greater Accra TESCON List.
5. Splitting of institutions and creating of imaginary Tescon.
6. Non-members of Tescon used as representatives of those institutions.
7. Non students used as Representatives for some Tescon institutions.
8. Interestingly, checks at most of these institutions have revealed that their institutional policies do not permit the establishment of any politically-inclined Associations. So the question we ask is; how then do they appear on the greater Accra TESCON list as TESCON Institutions?
9. For the avoidance of doubts, these are the schools that do not have a recognized and Accredited Tescon but have miraculously found its names in the greater Accra TESCON List;
1. NAFTI
2. Advance Business
3. SIKKIM University
4. MARSHALL University
5. MOUNTCREST University
6. NARH BITA
7. MARANATHA
8. KNUSTFORD
9) RADFORD
10) KNUST Accra Campus
11) BLUE CREST.
As if that wasn’t enough, KAAF University which is located in Central Region also strangely found its way into Greater Accra.
Institutions that have only one Tescon recognize for both campus but have been slitted to have two.

1) Central university Mataheko
2) Methodist University Danaoman
2) Methodist University Tema
3) Ghana telecom main
3) Ghana telecom Annex
