NPP Executives Illegally In Office – Crabbe
Former 2nd Vice chair chairman of the New Patriotic Party Sammy Crabbe has taken a swipe at the current National Executive body of the party for what he says is their refusal to leave office despite having completed their 4-year mandate.

According to Mr. Crabbe neither the National Executive Committee nor National Council can amend the constitution to extend the mandate of National Executive whose tenure has expired.

“The National Executive Committee, the National Council cannot amend our constitution to extend anybody’s term. Even if you don’t like me listen to what I’m saying because one day it will overflow and affect this beautiful country of ours. Our constitution is very clear that every executive elected at the national level serves for 4 years.” He said

Mr. Crabbe continues to question the legality of some major decisions made by some party officials and the committee; the latest being the extension of the mandate of the current executives until June when the elections will be held.

Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb’s Kwabena Kyenkyenhene Boateng on “21 minutes with KKB”, Mr. Crabbe described the extension as illegal and effrontery to the constitution.

“You can’t have some members so-called NEC sitting down there and say I’m extending that term. It’s illegal. Things stand now we don’t have anybody cloaked with power to make a decision as an officer of this party” he added.

It will be recalled that the suspension of the Sammy Crabbe follows a petition by some aggrieved party members who accused him together with Kwabena Agyepong of undermining the party’s authority by publicly rebelling against its decision to indefinitely suspend Mr Afoko.
