Shatta Wale Stirs Debate With #Stoptramadolabuse Call
A social media post by popular dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, calling on the youth to stop the abuse of Tramadol, has sparked debate among some followers.

While some believe his call was a good cause, others lashed out at him, claiming he led the youth to abuse the drug, calling him ‘king of Tramadol.’

Last Tuesday, Shatta Wale posted on Twitter that he was angry by the abuse of the drug, especially with fellow artistes who “are teaching their fans tramol life should stop.”

He claimed the “ghetto youth community” does not belong to the government but him.

But the post engendered reactions from followers some of whom thought the call in itself was to shed light on the drug.

Most followers heaped praises on the multiple award-winning artiste for the call.

Others were not kind with their words on Shatta Wale.

Tramadol abuse is said to have hit record high in Ghana with some opinion leaders calling for the arrest of users.

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) recently confiscated over 4,000 tablets of the drug in the Ashanti Region.
